MSNBC Green News

Sustainable living is a life style, full of choices in favor of quality of life, quality of food, socially responsible purchasing, and much more. Many still may think that Sustainable Living is a sacrifice, or abnormally limited life invented by some "tree-huggers", or it is unreasonably expensive. Many sustainable choices come to be just a substitute for bad habits. Sustainable living in many ways requires higher standard of living, better quality of life, and thus, helps people be happier.

And what about costs? Eating well is a sort of investment into your health, like a preventive treatment, like gym membership, or a diet kit.

In short, learn more, much more before you decide to disregard sustainable living. You can take gradual steps towards becoming more sustainable. Here are some resources you might find helpful:

ORGANIC AND NATURAL FOOD STORES

Some of the local stores where you can buy not only organic and natural foods, but also some green cleaning products. Please support your local stores, and if they do not carry some product, give them suggestions. As they grow, hopefully we will have more choices and better prices.

  • local foods (i.e. not requiring extensive shipping);
  • grown in environmentally and socially responsive ways;
